Kate Moss for Topshop 2014

Topshop for Vogue 2014/Cocktail Dress from the Collection

My two favourite kool things ---> Kate Moss and Topshop

Kate Moss launced her new collection for Topshop yesterday evening in London as I'm sure most people on this website know already. I missed the live stream because I was on a bus at the time but you can watch the highlights (aka at 1:22 when Kate Moss gives "the look") on Topshop's website. Topshop also have a cute little quiz on Kate's style, it tells you what item from the collection would suit you. I got the Balearic style which is mostly aztec prints, boho and festival wear. It's strange because I never dress very boho, I think its maybe because I said yes to every question involving being lazy and wearing paisley. My favourite piece is this black fringe dress or maybe its because this picture is so wow :o

The twenties inspired dress and the crop leather jacket is so Kate. I think this collection is her most personal collection, a lot of the pieces were inspired by pieces from her own wardrobe. The silver silk spaghetti dress reminds me so much of nineties Kate and this picture of her with Naomi Campbell. I watched a really good documentary a view years ago called Kate Moss: Creating an Icon, it was pretty interesting photography and fashion-wise.

If you live in Ireland like me, you can go to the launch of the Kate Moss collection tomorrow at 8:00am at BT2. I wont be there because at home, like a hundred miles away :'(

but if you are here are some video's to get you excited for tomorrow

Under The Skin

I went to see Under the Skin this day last week. I haven't posted about it because I've been so busy. Trying to rent my flat to someone is more stressful than I imagined. I loved Under the Skin, not only because Scarlett Johansson looks amazing as an alien seductress but because it's surreal and beautiful and somewhat unsettling but that just seems to add to the beauty. At first I found it difficult to get into the story because its so abstract and surreal but after awhile I started to relax into the pace. I read in Empire that a lot of the scenes were filmed using hidden cameras. I cant believe some of public didn't recognise Scarlett Johansson, although she does look so much different as a glam short haired brunette. Speaking of short haired brunettes heres a picture ...

Its still winter weather here so thats why all the black

The special effects, sound and beauty of every shot make this film one of my favourites. It also says some interesting things about gender and sexuality, particularly the scene at the end... um I dont want to give any spoilers so here are some screen caps. This review says that she looks like Mick Jagger from Performance hehe idk .. And this interview with the director Jonathan Glazer is quite interesting, he talks about the challenges of shooting the film from an alien perspective
